Performer of the Week: Erik Winger

I’m happy to introduce my readers to the multi-talented Erik Winger. Erik sings lead vocals, and plays lead and rhythm guitar, drums, bass and piano! He started his music journey by playing the drums at age 12, and immediately became obsessed with any and all things music. Erik describes his music as “a homage (stylistically) to the 1980’s arena rock/power pop sensibilities of bands like Journey, Toto, Bryan Adams and Rick Springfield.” He has already had a ton of memorable performances and plans to have many more in the upcoming years. Erik says that he’s been blessed to play “everywhere,” and has recently performed at The Alley, Captain Hiram’s and The Athens Theater. I enjoyed seeing him play a solo local gig down at the Winter Park Mall, and his talent and musical range clearly shined through. I missed his recent show with Kiss Alive/The Tribute, but I plan on seeing a future show (and will keep you all informed!).
